Suspended license for the song “Buddies on the Road” after the singer allegedly posted vulgar language.
The song, which is from Buddy Holly’s 1963 album Buddy Holly, was included in the album.
The company issued a statement Wednesday night, saying, “We are aware of an allegation that has been brought to our attention that is being investigated by our legal department.
The content of the song, however, has not been violated.
We are investigating this matter and will make the appropriate adjustments to our policy going forward.”
A representative for the Nashville-based company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The singer, who died in 2017, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
“Buddy is a true pioneer, a songwriter and a great friend to our Country Music community,” the statement said.
“His legacy of soulful songs will be passed on for generations.”
