(AP) — Tennessee’s hunting license plates will now be available on the state’s new mobile app.
The new program, which will be launched Tuesday, allows people to check their license plate information from their smartphones, and will be available in cities across the state.
The new app will include a variety of maps showing where the hunting license is located.
It will also show license plate numbers for any vehicles registered in the county, and allow users to search for license plates that have been stolen or damaged.
Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesman Dan Sperling says the mobile app will allow people to get license plates from any mobile phone, including iPhones and Android devices.
Sperling said the program is expected to be available to all drivers in Tennessee by the end of the month.
He says the app will be used by hunters and fishers, while hunters and anglers will be able to use it to check license plate and vehicle information.
Tennesseans will be eligible to check the information using the app from any location in Tennessee, including in the state capitol building.
The department says the program will allow for more accurate and up-to-date information and will provide people with an online dashboard to monitor their license plates and vehicle status.
