Alabama drivers license is being phased out in favor of enhanced driver’s licenses.
But a new article from Busted Coverage provides some helpful pointers for getting your driver’s permit and driving license in order.

In addition to the article, there are some handy recommendations for getting a new Alabama license and driving permit.
Here are some of the suggestions:1.
Get the New Jersey License (New Jersey Passport).
The New NJ License is the current state license issued to New Jersey residents.
It is issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and does not require any type of pre-application processing or passport approval.
This is the only driver’s license issued by DMV that is not issued by New York State, New York City, the California DMV or any other state DMV.
Use the Passport to get a New Alabama Driver License.
If you want to get a New Alabama Driver License, you must use the NJ Passport or a New California Driver License (NCDL).
Apply for a New NJ Driver’s license.
New NJ Drivers License applicants must apply by mail.
Obtain an Enhanced Driver’s Licenses from DMVS by filing a form with the DMV.
This is the first time in history that DMVIS has issued a New Jersey License without the Enhanced License.
Receive a New NCDL.
A New NLDL is a new Alabama License that requires the applicant to present a valid driver license and provide a signature on the form.
Purchase a new NJ Driver’s Permit.
You can purchase a NJ Driver Perm at the State Driver License Department in person or online.
File a Driver’s Application for the New NJ License, and get your new license.
If you are in a state where the NJ Driver Permission is not issued, you can apply for a license online through DMRS for free. You will have to pay a fee for this service.
Pay the driver permit fee and wait for the license to be issued.
Transfer your new NJ License to your state.
Once you have received your New NLDL, transfer your new NJ Drivers Permits to your state.
Pass the Driver License Test. You can take the Driver License Test online or you can pay the driver permits fee at DMPS or online at the DMVP office. 11.
Have your drivers license renewed.
To have your driverlicense renewed, be sure to file your Driver License Application with the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV).
