Posted October 01, 2018 09:29:17If you live in Louisiana, you may want to check to make sure that your license plate is valid in the state.
Louisiana requires that all plate holders have a Louisiana license plate.
You can find the current Louisiana license plates at the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles website.
The department also recommends that anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor or infraction in Louisiana should register their license plate and attach it to their vehicle.
You can register your license plates by calling the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Division (LMV) at 1-800-361-3464.
The license plate you need to get registered should be the number on the back of your license, which should match the plate number on your car.
If the plate you’re registering is not on your license the license plate will be considered invalid.
If you have an expired license plate or your plate is not in good condition, you will need to return it to the lien holder who will either pay the fee or replace it with a new plate.
If your plate has been lost or stolen, you can report it to LMV by calling 1-888-959-8477.
You will need a valid form of identification that includes your name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number.
The lien will then be honored for one year.
The LDMV website also has information about registration fees.
