CSLb is the license check company that will handle all renewal requests for Illinois drivers licenses.
The company is in the process of reviewing the applications for renewal of Illinois licenses and is looking for more information about how the license checks are being handled.CSLb has been reviewing the new Illinois law, passed last week, and is asking for more time to conduct its reviews, said company spokesman Scott F. Hinkle.
“We’ve been receiving questions and we’re hoping to get a little more information from the state this week,” Hinkle said.
The company’s license check process is different from that of other license check companies that can look at all applications and review all renewals.
CSLs license checks process is more extensive than those companies, including a review of the application and all information about the renewal.
If an applicant doesn’t meet the requirements for renewal, the license is deemed invalid.
If the license holder isn’t eligible for renewal in the next 12 months, it’s a criminal offense to drive a motor vehicle in Illinois.
Climb also will be conducting a license check for the next three months, but will stop that process after May 20.
